Paint your own frames
Use our step by step guide to help you choose frames, paints and painting accessories.
Step one | Pick your frame
We stock a range of unpainted frames suitable for painting. Our signature styles (A - E) are a double frame which are great fun to decorate. All the frames include an embroidery mounting kit. If you are looking for a frame to go with a specific kit, Frame C fit The Fables, Frame E and F fit The Jabberwocky, Frame E and G fit The Musicians and Frame D fits The Samplers. The other styles are ones Eppie often uses in her Freestyle Embroidery.

Step three | Choose your paints
We have collaborated with the British independant paint maker Colourman Paints to launch a curated selection of their chalk based paints in 50ml jars, the perfect size for decorative painting. You can either buy these paints in pre-selected bundles of 4 colours, all designed to complement each other, or choose to buy the jars individually.

Step four | Do you want to try a stencil?
We have designed some stencils which perfectly accompany our signature style wide frames (style A to E). Stencils are a fun way to achieve detail which would be much more challenging to do freehand. All stencils come in a decorative folder with a guide on how to use them.

Our decorative painting virtual course
About the course
Over the course of 80 minutes, this course will teach you how to decoratively paint frames. We will introduce you to all the materials you need, the considerations which go into creating designs, as well as over a dozen freehand painting motifs. You will then go on to learn some more advanced techniques such as stenciling, using tape to create designs and reverse glass painting for mounts.
