What is in "The Makers" Plan
We're incredibly excited about The Makers Space, set to launch in January 2025. It's going to be a dedicated platform designed to support, inspire, and empower you as a creative. We're currently collaborating with a fantastic group of 150 people who are helping us shape the content, test out challenges, and fine-tune group activities. Here's what you can look forward to:
Four Pre-Recorded Virtual Courses with over 10 hours of videos covering creativity fundamentals, embroidery, freestyle stitching, and decorative painting. We are bringing our existing hugely-popular courses along with a brand new one! Whether you're a beginner or looking to sharpen your existing skills, these courses provide step-by-step guidance to ensure you feel confident. But more than that, they're about helping you find and express your creative voice, making your work truly personal and unique.
A Resource Bank full of motifs, cut-out shapes, folktales, and craft guides to help spark new ideas and inspire your work. This evolving library is constantly updated with contributions from our creative community. Imagine having a treasure trove of inspiration at your fingertips—whether you need that perfect motif to kickstart a new project, are looking for story-based inspiration, or want to explore different crafts, this resource bank is here to keep your creative juices flowing.
Live Events and Q&A Sessions for ongoing support, coaching, and connection with others in the community. Our live events are designed to bring people together, help you overcome creative blocks, and give you access to direct guidance from experts. We host regular Q&A sessions where you can get specific help on your projects or just learn from others' experiences—it's like having your very own creative mentor.
Creative Challenges to push your skills and build confidence, like our monthly "how to draw badly" exercises and quarterly colour palette projects. These challenges are meant to help you break down your fears, get hands-on, force you to finish projects and most importantly, have fun! I can't tell you how liberating it is to embrace imperfection and just create.
Message Boards to share your progress, seek accountability, celebrate your creations, and encourage one another.
