For the last few years, we’ve been looking for a new way to make.
Something that still had all the colour, creativity and satisfaction we love about textiles, but didn’t require weeks of stitching, specialist skills or hours of spare time. Something you could pick up for an afternoon and finish with a piece of art you’d genuinely want to hang on your wall.
We found it in appliqué.
The Appliqits

Easy kits you can start and finish in an afternoon, suitable for little and big hands alike. Gather the little ones you love, or simply carve out a bit of time for yourself, and with just a pair of scissors and an iron, you’ll have pieces of art to treasure for years to come.
The Improvisations
Our first foray into abstraction
The Improvisations are a completely new direction for us. Inspired by the bold shapes, colour and confidence of mid-century artists, they were designed to let textiles hold their own as art: bigger in scale, simpler in form and made to make a statement on the wall.
This is our celebration of fabric as an art form in its own right. Pieces that feel at home on a gallery wall, work beautifully in larger spaces and bring something altogether different to The Fabled Thread.
