The Fables

The Lion, The Boar and The Vulture

£80.00

On a summer day, when the great heat induced a general thirst among the beasts, a Lion and a Boar came at the same moment to a small well to drink.

They fiercely disputed which of them should drink first, and were soon engaged in the agonies of a mortal combat.

When they stopped suddenly to catch their breath for a fiercer renewal of the fight, they saw a Vulture waiting in the distance to feast on the one that should fall first.

They at once made up their quarrel, saying, “It is better for us to make friends, than to become the food of Crows or Vultures.”

Better to be friends than fight.

This kit is from The Fables range.

This kit also comes as a refill for Studio Members.

  • About the range

These finely crafted kits give you everything you need to stitch timeless tales. Their striking, storytelling designs were inspired by Aesop’s fables, with each kit depicting a different tale and a different moral.

The kits use just three core stitches: satin stitch, split stitch and chain stitch, and take around 20 hours to stitch. We have a video guide accompanying each kit which will show you the key stitching stages, so if you are picking up a needle for the first time, we will guide you the whole time.

  • Framing your embroidery

    Our framing shop

We believe framing is absolutely integral to any piece of art. A frame can make or break a finished piece, so as much consideration should be given to the frame as the artwork in it. Our signature decorative frames are all hand-painted in our London studio and designed to perfectly complement our embroidery kits.

We are passionate about getting everyone making and feeling creative, so with that in mind, we also have a curated range of materials to enable you paint your own frames. Alongside our virtual decorative painting course, these materials are a really fun way to experiment and create pieces totally unique to you.
