Appliqué kits | Meet the Appliqits
Meet the Appliqits, our collection of bright and bold animal appliqué kits. Our quickest and easiest kits yet, each colourful creature comes together like a fabric jigsaw in as little as an hour. Designed for little ones (aged 8+) and their grown-ups alike, all you need is a pair of scissors and an iron to create your very own piece of art, ready to frame and hang on the wall!

How to Make an Appliqit

A fabric jigsaw for little hands and grown-ups alike.
Making an Appliqit is a bit like putting together a fabric jigsaw. Using a special fabric glue paper, you cut out your colourful fabric shapes, arrange them on your background fabric and iron them into place. It's a lovely project to enjoy with children aged 8+, with a grown-up helping with the ironing.
Our frameable Appliqits require no sewing at all, whilst our cushions and stockings are a little more involved, with each shape secured using a simple blanket stitch, either by hand or sewing machine.

Pick Your Animal | Options for Framing
Our easiest kits to make, these colourful creatures take anywhere from an hour for the smallest designs to around three hours for the largest. Each animal is carefully proportioned so that different frames all fit neatly together. Start with one, add to your collection over time, and build your very own colourful menagerie!

Pick Your Animal | Options for Stitching
We also have a range of kits for making cushions and Christmas stockings. These follow exactly the same process as our framable designs, but because they'll need to withstand a little more wear and tear, there's one additional step: stitching around the edges of each shape. You can do this by hand using a simple blanket stitch, or with a sewing machine if you have one. This extra step adds around 3–6 hours to the making process, but it means your finished cushion or stocking will be something you can use and enjoy for years to come. Our Christmas stockings can also be personalised with a name of your choice. You can either buy one kit and finish it with a plain fabric backing, or combine one of our left and right boot designs to create a fully appliquéd, double-sided stocking!

Childhood should be colourful!
It's time to banish "sad beige"
I grew up in the 90s, a time when colour was part and parcel with childhood. From what we wore, how our rooms were decorated, to the food we ate, the toys we played with. I have no doubt my love of colour stems from how much of it I was exposed to early on. When I had my little girl, I wanted to bring that same colour to her childhood - but unfortunately it seems the 2020s is the decade of beige. So this range is particularly close to my heart because it brings together the nostalgia of my own childhood, along with my desire for my daughters childhood.
Finish Your Framed Piece | Frames and Paints
These are extra-deep, double-layered box frames, designed to give your finished creations a feeling of quality. We sell the frames unpainted so you can decorate them however you like. You might choose a simple block colour, or get a little more adventurous with stripes, spots or whatever else takes your fancy. It's another opportunity to get creative and make your finished piece completely your own. We've also put together a couple of special paint bundles to complement the collection, along with the brushes you might need to decorate your frames. Choosing the right frame... Each animal has a corresponding frame size, so make sure you choose the correct one for your design: - Frame N: Freddie, Frankie, Bobby and Betty - Frame O: Olive, Annie and Lenny - Frame P: Winnie and Nora - Frame Q: Albert and Georgina

Finish Your Stitched Piece | Piping and Fabric
For our stitched kits we have designed a special striped piping using the colours from within the designs themselves. These pipings add a totally unique and really special finishing touch whether it is a cushion or a stocking you are making. The piping comes in two colourways and is sold in 2.5 meter lengths - enough for one cushion or one stocking. If you prefer, we do also offer a finishing service for those based in the UK.
