India Diaries - A Day in Ahmedabad

At the start of January, I embarked on the trip of a lifetime—a textile tour of Gujarat. I’ve been inspired by Indian textiles for as long as I can remember—their rich colors, storytelling, and intricate imagery. Of all the regions in India, Gujarat is home to the most diverse and vibrant embroidery traditions, making it the perfect place to explore.

The trip was expertly organized by Sian and Tuhina of South Asia Uncovered, and it exceeded every expectation. We had the rare opportunity to step into the real lives of artisans, experience their traditions firsthand, and connect with the incredible makers of Kutch.
