This beginners embroidery kit depicts acts 1-3 of The Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. The kits will introduce you to two different embroidery stitches: satin stitch and chain stitch. With large areas to fill and simple shapes, the kit is designed to be accessible to anyone completely new to stitching. In addition we also have a video in the How To section of the website which will guide you through getting started and each step.
The kits contains the following:
- Three pieces of organic calico with the design for each act printed on
- Plenty of DMC embroidery thread
- A couple of embroidery needles
- A storybook telling the tale of The Jabberwocky and a guide for how to stitch the artwork for each design
- A 5 inch embroidery hoop and a guide on how to use it
The finished pieces measures 18cm x 18cm and each will take 8-10 hours for you to stitch it. This kit is not separable to each act as the thread is all wound onto bobbins together. Therefore you cannot separate this kit into three easily. All you need is a pair of sewing scissors.
You can buy this set of three for £70 compared to £90 for buying the three kits individually. Additionally, you can buy this with three sets of framing and mounting materials for £125. The frames are unpainted (as shown in the image) and therefore designed for you to be able to paint in colours you prefer. Any colours work with these designs so create something unique to you. You can use any type of paint to paint the frame, or take a look at our Sewing Supplies Shop where we also sell small tins of eggshell paints in our favourite colours! We do not sell any painted frames to go with this kit.
