We have carefully curated a range of fabrics which you can use for stitching on and applique with your own designs. The fabrics are all available in pre-cut pieces.
Or alternatively if you want to create our designs but in your own colour palette, you can also buy just the printed fabric for and separately purchase thread if you want to vary colours in the designs.

Cotton twill
Cotton twill
This heavy cotton twill has diagonal weave on one side and a flat weave on the reverse, so can be used with either side as the front. The weight makes this fabric perfect for embroidery as the high opacity means you won't see threads trailing on the reverse and the tight weave can take delicate stitches.
The fabric is available in either 25 x 55 cm sections or 50 x 55 cm sections.

Cotton Poplin
Cotton Poplin
There are a couple of colours we stock in a cotton poplin rather than twill. These work just as well for embroidery in the dark colours there is high opacity. The fabrics have a flat weave on both sides and are lighter weight, being 160g/sm rather than 270g/sm.

Linen
Linen
Linen is a wonderful fabric to use for embroidery. Not only is it one of the most sustainable fabrics, but the fibers create a lovely texture in your finished piece. We have a rich earthy palette of linens which can be used for embroidery or in combination to create applique pieces.
Linen has a looser weave than cotton, therefore when doing embroidery on the lighter colours you may see some trailing of threads behind and the fabric has more of a tendency to fray. This is easily prevented by using a fray stop or loosely hemming the fabric. If using for applique, we recommend getting some starch spray to make the fabric more rigid whilst it is being stitched.
The fabric is available in either 25 x 48 cm sections or 50 x 48 cm sections.
