These kits enable you to stitch a Christmas stocking to bring joy to any child for years to come. As with all The Fabled Thread kits, storytelling is at the heart of what we do. These kits are no different and depict the ridiculous and wonderful Just So stories by Rudyard Kipling. Each stocking kit comes with a booklet which tells you the story behind your stocking.
Tapestry is about as relaxing as embroidery can be. With no complicated stiches to learn, this stitching gives you the opportunity to completely switch off and unwind, whilst creating a stocking to last for decades to come. Create a future heirloom.
The stocking measures ~50cm x 40cm at the widest points. At the narrowest point in the neck the stocking is ~20cm. The design is printed on 10HPI canvas and can be stitched either using a full victorian cross stitch (~2 months to stitch) or a tent stitch using 2 strands of wool (~1 month to stitch). The instruction booklet will provide you with guides to stitch in both these ways.
The tapestry canvas has a section at the top for you to customise with a name. The instruction booklet has a full alphabet included for you to decide on how to fit the name in. We are also always here to help you with that if you need any support.
You do not need to use a frame for tapestry stitching as the canvas has a lot of structure and therefore you don't have to worry about tension. However many people, myself included, find it more comfortable to stitch with a rectangular frame. Therefore I carry stock of the my preferred frame (18" by 9" Elbesee easy clip frames) which you can add on for £15.00.

- All the Appletons british tapestry wool you could need
- A design plan and stitching guide
- Several tapestry needles
Note: this is a needlepoint kit therefore does not come with the backing fabric, tassels or ribbon. I am happy to advise you where to get these if you would like to make your stockings up as I have.
